In the vast majority of cases in which a blood spot appears in the eye, the cause is considered accidental and simple and does not require treatment, especially if the size of the spot is small and concentrated in whiteness, and there is no feeling of pain or blurred vision, the treatment, in this case, is only by making compresses of cold water on the eye and leaving it until the spot goes alone, and most of the time it starts to disappear gradually until it disappears completely within two weeks, depending on its size, the larger it needs more time.


Sometimes the appearance of a blood spot is accompanied by severe headache and pain in the eyes, and this is a very dangerous indicator and means that the eye is affected by acute glaucoma, which is an emergency situation that calls for immediately going to the ophthalmologist and doing the necessary examination of intraocular pressure and diagnosing the condition accurately to give the right treatment to the patient, and you should see a doctor immediately if blood spots appear in both eyes at the same time.
